What is Norco? |
Norco is an analgesic combination used to relieve pain. Norco may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Norco Warnings |
IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to codeine, hydrocodone, dihydrocodeine, or oxycodone (such as Tylox, Tylenol with Codeine, Vicodin), contact your doctor or pharmacist BEFORE TAKING Norco. A severe allergic reaction to Norco includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to Norco or if a certain medicine contains codeine, hydrocodone, dihydrocodeine, or oxycodone, contact your doctor or pharmacist. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately. Do not take any more doses of Norco unless your doctor tells you to do so. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE of Norco or take Norco for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor. Exceeding the recommended dose of Norco or taking Norco for longer than prescribed may be habit-forming. AVOID ALCOHOL while you are using Norco. Norco will add to the effects of alcohol and other depressants. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Norco. Using Norco alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Norco CONTAINS ACETAMINOPHEN. Do not take additional acetaminophen for pain or fever without checking with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines contain acetaminophen. Acetaminophen may cause liver damage. If you drink alcohol on a daily basis, do not take this medicine without first discussing it with your doctor. Alcohol use combined with acetaminophen may increase your risk for liver damage. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Norco during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF Norco IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Norco, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Norco Side Effects |
SIDE EFFECTS of Norco medication, that may go away during treatment, include dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness, constipation, nausea, or vomiting. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience rash or itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

Norco Dosage |
Follow the directions for using Norco provided by your doctor. Norco MAY BE TAKEN WITH FOOD if it upsets your stomach. STORE Norco at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF Norco and you are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose of Norco and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses of Norco at once.

Norco -Overdose |
If overdose is suspected while taking Norco, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea; vomiting; excessive sweating; dark urine; stomach pain; extreme fatigue; slow, shallow breathing; unusual drowsiness; deep sleep or loss of consciousness; cold, clammy skin; and slow heartbeat.

What storage conditions are needed for this medication? |
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.

What other information should I know? |
DO NOT SHARE Norco with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE Norco for other health conditions. KEEP Norco out of the reach of children. IF USING Norco FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
