What is Ionamin?

Ionamin is one of the brand names of phentermine which is a sympathomimetic amine and is similar to an amphetamine. Ionamin increases the heart rate and blood pressure and decreases the appetite by stimulating the central nervous systems that is nerves and brain. Ionamin is prescribed by the physicians for the treatment of obesity and is a short-term supplement to diet and exercise.

Ionamin Warnings

One who is in taking Ionamin in consultation with his/her physician should be very much cautious while driving vehicles, performing hazardous activity or operating heavy machinery as Ionamin can cause blurred vision, dizziness and restlessness. Do not take this drug with or less than 14 days after taking a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor. If one does, then he may very suddenly develop extremely high blood pressure

Ionamin Dosage

Ionamin are usually prescribed once or twice a day before meal on an empty stomach.
Ionamin tablets should be taken with a glass full of water and are to be taken as directed by one’s physician.
Ionamin tablets are never prescribed to be taken in the evening as it may cause insomnia.

Ionamin tablets and capsules are always to be swallowed in whole and not to be chewed or crushed before taking.
Ionamin should always be stored at room temperatures in places that are moist and heat free.
Ionamin tablets or capsules should not be taken in more than what ever is prescribed by the physician, as it may be very dangerous to health.

Ionamin - Missed Dose

The missed dose should be taken immediately when one remembers and should be skipped if the time is for the next dose. It should also be skipped if the patient remembers it in the evening as it in taking of the dose in the evening may cause insomnia.

Ionamin - Overdose

Experiencing of the symptoms like vomiting, irregular heartbeat, rapid breathing, nausea, hallucination, aggressiveness, and seizures are the result of the over dosage.

Withdrawal Symptoms of Ionamin

Stopping the drug suddenly may result into withdrawal symptoms like restlessness, dizziness, and nervousness. Hence one should consult with his or her physician so as to stop the drug gradually.
